Saturday Umpiring

All teams 12 years and above are required to nominate 3 umpires at registration night that will be rostered on throughout the season. If you wish to umpire please contact your club's umpire convenor.   

Dubbo Association are strongly committed to encouraging and developing our future umpires and have introduced the mentor program. Under the guidance of our most experienced umpires, our learners will participate in a 3 week umpiring course and receive mentoring on Saturday mornings during junior games to gain skills and confidence. We are always looking for great coaches and once they are part of our DNA family we invest in mentoring and support from experienced coaches as well as senior coaching staff and Netball NSW development programs.

DNA’s coaching pathway is aligned to Netball Australia’s coaching framework. The pathways are illustrated below:

Online Foundation Coach Accreditation Course

Development (Blended) Coach Accreditation Course

The online Foundation Coach Accreditation Course is targeted primarily at beginner coaches, teachers, parents, and Suncorp NetSetGO coaches and outlines introductory coaching information and basic netball techniques. The Course is the first step in the National Coaching Accreditation Framework and is an important step along the knowledge pathway for a coach.
 

Enrolment Instructions:

The new blended (online and face to face) Development Coach Accreditation Course is targeted at Club, Association and Regional coaches and teachers aiming to further their netball knowledge. The course is the second step in the National Coaching Accreditation Framework and provides a good introduction to skill progression and fault detection and correction.

 

Steps required to complete the Development Coach Accreditation:

Step 1 - Completion of the Online Development Coaching Course ($60.00)

Step 2 - Completion (minimum 70% pass) of the Rules of Netball Theory Exam ($12.50)

Step 3 - Enrol in a Development Coach Practical Workshop ($66.00).

Intermediate Coach Accreditation Course

This course is designed to enhance the knowledge of coaches who are coaching at Representative, Talent Identification and Metro/Regional League level. It is an accredited course under the Netball National Coaching Accreditation Framework.

 

Duration – Face to Face workshop (7 hours)

Enrolment Prerequisites

* Participants must be at least 16 years of age on completion of the Intermediate Course to be eligible for accreditation.

* All Intermediate Coaching Course participants must be registered members of their local State/Territory Netball Association prior to accreditation being awarded to ensure adequate insurance cover.

* All participants must have a personal fitness level that will enable them to perform their normal coaching duties and where required to demonstrate skills at a slow pace. Demonstrations are not compulsory, and they are performed at the individual participant’s discretion.

 

Course Prerequisites

Participants must have completed the following pre-requisites:

* Completion of a Netball Australia Development Coaching Accreditation.

* Coaches must have had at least one year/season coaching experience after completion of the Netball Australia Development Coaching Course.

Advanced Coach Accreditation Course

This course is designed to enhance the knowledge of coaches who are coaching at Representative, Talent Identification,

Premier League and Metro/Regional League level. It is an accredited course under the National Coaching Accreditation Framework.

 

Duration – 29 hours in-course & assignment work (conducted online and face to face)

 

Enrolment Prerequisites:

* Participants must be at least 17 years of age on completion of the Advanced Accreditation Course to be eligible for accreditation.

* All Advanced Coaching Course participants must be registered members of their local State/Territory Netball Association prior to

accreditation being granted to ensure adequate insurance cover.

* All participants must have a personal fitness level that will enable them to perform their normal coaching duties and where

required to demonstrate skills at a slow pace. Demonstrations are not compulsory, and they are performed at the individual

participant’s discretion.

 

Course Pre-requisites

Participants must have completed the following pre-requisites:

* Two years coaching at a minimum level of Representative 15/U.

* Have two session plans assessed as competent be a mentor, using the seven-step progression.

* Coaches must have had at least one year/season coaching experience after completion of a Netball Australia Intermediate Coaching Course.

 

Enrolment Instructions & Pre-Requisites:

* Coaches will need to apply to be accepted into the Advanced course once the course date is announced

* To apply for this course, you will need to contact Mardi Aplin - maplin@netballnsw.com to ensure you have met all of the requirements of this course.

 

2022 Course:

Cost: Face to Face Practical & Theory $400.00

 

Completion - Participants must complete all assessment tasks related to the course within 2 years of the commencement date of the course. If participants do not complete all tasks within the required time frame and wish to attain accreditation, the entire course will have to be completed again. This will result in additional course fees to be paid. Exemptions may be considered.

Elite and High Performance Coaching Courses

The Elite Course is designed to enhance the knowledge of coaches who are coaching Premier League and State Teams.

 

The course is modular based with alternative delivery methods to provide professional development for elite coaches. The course will comprise of several compulsory and optional modules with the practical components delivered in each state and the theory components delivered either on-line or by correspondence.

 

The High-Performance Course equates to the former Level 3 course, current Level 3 coaches will receive High Performance accreditation. This course has been modified to reflect the changing requirements of coaching in the high-performance environment. The High-Performance Course is run through Netball Australia.

Dubbo Netball Association is always looking for volunteers. Our AGM is held in November every year or you can contact us at any time for information on positions available. After all, community sport does not run without the help of our wonderful volunteers.
